Beverley’s Market Cross Light Switch on to take place on 23rd November 2025

Beverley town centre’s dazzling display of Christmas lights will be illuminated at Market Cross in a special event taking place on Sunday 23rd November.

Children from St Mary’s School choir will get everyone into the Christmas spirit by singing a selection of Christmas carols at the lights switch-on which takes place at 4pm.

The event has traditionally been organised by Beverley Lions Club, but with the club closing earlier this year, the lights display and memory tree in Beverley town centre have been taken on by the Rotary Club of Beverley.

Rev Becky Lumley will officiate the proceedings and a reading will be given by the President of the Rotary Club of Beverley Julie Booker, who will join the Mayor of Beverley Cllr Alison Healy to switch on the lights.

The Rotary Club of Beverley will also continue the tradition of the memory tree, where people are invited to write messages to loved ones and light a candle in memory of family and friends.

All are welcome to the festive event.
