Beverley’s Remembrance Sunday parade and service details

Beverley’s Remembrance parade, to honour those who lost their lives in conflict, will take place on Sunday 10th November 2024.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Beverley Minster at 10:50am, followed by the annual Remembrance Sunday parade, which will march through the town centre to Hengate Memorial Gardens via the Market Cross, where His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire will take the salute.
Following the parade, there will be a short service and wreath-laying at the Memorial Gardens.
Programme for the Event:
- 10:00am – Parade members assemble in the School Lane car park (behind the Beverley Fire Station).
- 10:15am – The Parade forms up under the guidance of the Defence School of Transport.
- 10:30am – The Parade steps off, marching to Beverley Minster along New Walkergate, Railway Street, Eastgate, and Minster Yard North. The Parade enters Beverley Minster via the Highgate Door and is directed to the reserved seating area.
- 10:50am – Service of Remembrance commences.
- 11:50am – Remembrance Service concludes. Parade members proceed out of the Minster and reform under the guidance of the Defence School of Transport.
- The Parade then steps off and marches along Minster Yard North, Eastgate, Wednesday Market, Butcher Row, Saturday Market, and Hengate, reaching the Memorial Gardens. His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire will take the salute at the Market Cross.
- In Memorial Gardens a short service and the laying of wreaths will follow, concluding the event.
- The uniformed Parade members will then leave the Memorial Gardens, form up along Hengate, and march back to the School Lane car park along New Walkergate.

Veterans with mobility issues and those using mobility scooters and who may not be able to complete the whole march from School lane may join the parade outside the Minster at 10.50 and participate
in the shorter march to the Memorial Gardens.

East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd is offering free travel on all of our buses for members and veterans of the nation’s armed forces on Remembrance Sunday. All those wearing their military uniform, displaying medals, or their military ID card on board our buses will travel for free with us all day.
