PHOTOS: Ladies’ Day at Beverley Rugby Club

Beverley Rugby Club’s 11th Ladies Day rose an amazing £4,050 for the oncology department at the Queens Centre at Castle Hill Hospital.

The club thanked all who attended and were so generous and the day’s sponsors, KGS, Rick Roberts, Jigsaw, Soju by Sumo , Neals Yard, Rebecca Louise Beauty, Crafty Cafe, Salt Revive and artist Emma Garness who designed the charity kit.

The money raised will be used to purchase a blanket warmer for the centre. After chemotherapy patients can feel really cold so a warm blanket will help them feel more comfortable.

The next Ladies Day will be in September, any companies interested in sponsoring the day should email president@beverleyrufc.co.uk

Ladies Day attracted 121 guests who enjoyed a three-course meal, entertainment from magician Andy Burrell and danced the night away with local band Glory Days.

President Carol Innes said: “The day is only possible with the hard work of volunteers and staff at this community club, thank you all.”

On the pitch, the men’s first team survived a determined Wetherby fightback to just about get over the line and keep their promotion hopes alive.
