A man who died following a serious collision near Tickton has been described by his family as “the kindest, most gentle and loving” person anyone could wish for.
Emergency services were called to the A1035 in the early hours of Tuesday, March 24, after a collision involving four vehicles.
At around 6.50am, a silver Nissan Micra travelling westbound is believed to have been involved in a collision with a blue DAF heavy goods vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. The HGV is then thought to have collided with a grey BMW 330e and a grey Volkswagen Polo.
The driver of the BMW, 52-year-old Andrew Garnett, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the Nissan Micra, the DAF HGV and the Volkswagen Polo were taken to hospital with serious injuries, though these are not believed to be life-threatening.
Paying tribute, Andrew’s family said: “Andrew was the kindest, most gentle and loving son, dad, brother, uncle and fiancé anyone could ever wish for.
“Adored and cherished by everyone who knew him, a huge void has forever been left in our hearts.”
Humberside Police confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log 58 of March 24
