Macmillan Christmas Concert to Take Place Amid Minster’s Dazzling Christmas Tree Festival

Beverley Minster will once again play host to the annual Macmillan Christmas Concert which will take place on Tuesday 9th December, set amongst the decorated firs of the church’s Christmas Tree Festival.
At the heart of the concert will be a choir made up of people whose lives have been touched by cancer.
With a moving and meaningful performance, each singer brings a personal story highlighting the vital support Macmillan provides to those living with cancer and their families.
They will be joined on the night by a line-up of other talented musicians including saxophonist Mike Anderson, Inspire School of Dance and Drama, Hull-based acapella group Answers on a Postcard, acclaimed singer-songwriter Edwina Hayes and talented violinist Lesley Locke.
The audience will have the opportunity to join in with several Christmas carols which are included in the programme during the event which will be compered by former BBC Radio Humberside presenter Phil White.

Readings and reflections that honour the experiences of those affected by cancer will take place and seasonal refreshments will be available to enjoy as part of the evening.
Organised by the East Riding committee of Macmillan Cancer Support, funds raised will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping the charity continue its essential work across East Yorkshire.

Rachel Kirkwood, chair of Macmillan Cancer Support in East Yorkshire, said: “This concert is always one of the most moving events of our year.
