Beverley Art Gallery, located in Champney Treasure House, has launched its 24th annual Open Art Exhibition.
The event showcases the creative talent from artists within the East Riding of Yorkshire and beyond.
More than 300 artists, a record-breaking number, submitted their works to the gallery in the hope of being selected for the exhibition.
One hundred and twenty-six pieces will feature in the final show, selected by Sarah Howard, artist and programme manager at Hull Museums and Ferens Art Gallery, and Andrea Martin, exhibitions manager at Lincoln Museum and Usher Gallery.
The exhibition will feature works across various mediums, covering a wide range of subjects by both professionals and amateur artists, to celebrate the region’s artistic community.
“We’ve been delighted by the strong response to this year’s Open Art Exhibition, particularly with the submission process being held in the gallery for the first time,” said Hannah Willetts, Beverley Art Gallery curator.
“It’s been a rewarding experience to connect directly with so many artists. Each year, our guest selectors bring fresh perspectives, and we’re proud to continue providing a platform for local talent in our historic gallery.
“We encourage all art enthusiasts and interested residents to join us in supporting these talented artists and take the advantage of the opportunity to see some fantastic artwork on display.”
Later in the exhibition, the Friends of Beverley Art Gallery will present prizes to outstanding works and artists.
Visitors can also vote for their favourite pieces in the People’s Choice Award.
Many works featured in the exhibition will be available for purchase, offering visitors a chance to acquire unique artworks in time for Christmas.
The exhibition will run until Thursday 18th December, and will be open during the gallery’s usual opening hours.
