Beverley Town rounded off their 2024-25 campaign with victory in the NCEL League Cup final.

The Beavers beat Knaresborough Town 3-2 in a thrilling final at Scunthorpe United’s Attis Arena on Tuesday evening (6th May).

Having suffered the bitter disappointment of losing a penalty shoot-out to Hallam in the Premier Division play-off final, Beverley bounced back in style.

They raced into a 3-0 first-half lead, with goals from Glen Sani, a Macauley Snelgrove penalty and Cam Connelly, but Knaresborough pulled one back on the stroke of half-time.

Kai Larkin was sent off on the hour mark for his second yellow card, and Knaresborough immediately scored again to set up a testing final 30 minutes for the 10 men.

But they held out and lifted the trophy, which this year was named in memory of former Bridlington Town goalkeeper James Hitchcock.
