Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision near Beverley

Humberside Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Meaux Lane at around 5 p.m. involving a silver Subaru and a black Vauxhall Mokka. It is believed both vehicles were traveling north when the Subaru veered off the road to the offside and collided with a tree.

Emergency services attended the scene, where a 37-year-old man, a passenger in the Subaru, was tragically pronounced deceased. His family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers during this difficult time.

The driver of the Subaru, a 38-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Vauxhall Mokka, a 36-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody while enquiries are ongoing.
