Humberside Police officers investigating reports that a handbag was stolen from a woman in her 90s in Beverley are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to get in touch.
The incident took place at around 11:10am on Saturday 27th April when the woman was walking between Saturday Market and Toll Gavel.
It was reported that somebody approached her before taking a bag, containing her purse and mobile phone, from her trolley and fleeing.
“We are appealing for any witnesses, or any with any information that may assist our enquiries, to please call our non-emergency 101 line quoting crime reference 24*57008 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously in 0800 555 111,” said a Humberside Police spokesperson.
