A car crashed into a town centre East Riding of Yorkshire Council building in Beverley last month, causing significant damage.
The front of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s customer service centre on Cross Street was driven into in the early hours of 26th February.
Brickwork was damaged, whilst windows were also smashed during the incident.
“Following an incident causing damage to the customer service centre in Beverley over the weekend, we have some further updates,” said East Riding of Yorkshire Council in a statement.
“The building has been made secure and alternative arrangements have been made with customers.
“In the meantime, we are setting up a temporary service within Beverley Library. We will follow with further updates shortly.”
A statement from Humberside Police said: “A man was arrested after the car he was driving crashed into a building on Cross Street in Beverley.
“Damage was caused to the building but thankfully no one was seriously injured. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the limit for alcohol.”
