A New Year’s Charity Ball last Saturday evening raised a remarkable amount of more than £16,000 for the Jacob’s Well Appeal.
Organised by office manager Bridget Conroy, more than 200 guests attended and the proceeds will help to support the charity’s ongoing humanitarian aid overseas and at home.
Bridget said: “This is a huge amount and the most our ball has ever raised”
She thanked all the guests who attended the night and especially the very generous donors of the auction and raffle prizes.
The food, venue and staff were all donated by the management of Lazaat at Cottingham.
Bridget added: “This is incredibly generous of the manager Naveed and has allowed us to make more money for the charity. Lazaat do a lot of charitable giving to local charities.
“We had a fabulous night with fizz on arrival, a three-course dinner and dancing to Smooth Operator’s live 80s music.
“There were some amazing prizes kindly donated by local people and businesses. Our guests were very generous with their bids”
