Volunteers from Beverley in Bloom have been busy creating and making decorations to give Beverley Railway Station a festive feel.
The group was, once again, invited by Northern Rail to work their magic to bring some seasonal cheer to Beverley.
They have aimed for a Scandinavian theme with decorations created largely from natural foraged materials.
Northern Rail provided the large Christmas tree, Tesco Beverley donated seven mini fir trees and volunteers worked to fashion 12 individually designed natural wreaths which brighten the southbound platform, along with one splendid large wreath made from dried foliage and feathers and angel collages made entirely from leaves.
Driftwood logs adorned with foliage and seasonal elements sit on windowsills, inside and out, and windows display festive creations.
Foliage arrangements, greenery garlands and large hanging twig trees with natural decorative embellishments welcome rail users arriving from Hull.
Santa’s sleigh will take pride of place in the ticket hall and the plant containers which sit outside along the Station frontage and approach have handmade, decorated cane frameworks.
Two pleached holly trees, generously loaned by local garden centre Coletta and Tyson, sit either side of the ticket tall entrance and complete the festive look.
Christmas at the station is the culmination of another busy year for the group which, in addition to their regular activities, has seen the creation of the newly-extended Jubilee Garden.
