Mayor holds Civic Dinner at East Riding College

Mayor of Beverley Cllr Linda Johnson hosted her Civic Dinner at East Riding College in Beverley , where she showcased the facilities on offer at the college to her invited guests.

Civic dignitaries from across the East Riding including Lord Lieutenant Jim Dick OBE, High Sheriff Richard Shepherdson and Freeman of Beverley Andrew Marr CBE, had the opportunity to tour the facilities and find out more about the college from staff and students.

Cllr Johnson, who is a governor at the college, said she was keen to showcase what the college does to her invited guests.

The mayor of Beverley, Cllr Linda Johnson, with her husband Graham and son Will, with some of the dignitaries who attended the civic dinner.

She said: “We had a wonderful evening which was really relaxed and gave my guests the opportunity to find out more about the college.

“We had a tour of the Institute of Technology, the hair and beauty salons and the arts department, where students showcased some of the costume design, film making and animation they had been working on

“The food for the evening was all prepared and served by the students and the entertainment was all provided by the students, who were fantastic.

Catering students from East Riding College Beverley prepared and served the food and refreshments to the dignitaries.

“I have had so many compliments about the evening and I hope people went home feeling really impressed with the college and recognising what a great resource they have on their doorstep.”
