Beverley Town Council has announced a series of events to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee later in the year.
The dates and details of the celebrations were confirmed on a recently-launched website, created by the town council.
The free events will take place around the town between 10am and 8pm on Friday 3rd June, the day after the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday gets underway.

The Big Jubilee Tea Party
With the Queen having her Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday 5th June, Beverley Town Council has decided to hold theirs a couple of days earlier to allow the community to come together at the historic North Bar.
People will be able to take along their own food or buy some from local food stands, before sitting at the tables provided with friends and family.
Although people can bring their own food, organisers ask that they do not share with others.
No alcohol or glass is allowed and all waste must be placed in the bins that will be provided.
Platinum Party at Flemingate
Flemingate will be venue for a day of music throughout the decades, with tributes to some of the biggest names from the last 70 years.
The first confirmed act is Bootleg Buddy, with Dave Remblance performing the best of Buddy Holly and other artistes connected to the rock and roll star who died aged just 22.
Platinum Jubilee Proms
A grand stage and large screens will be erected on Saturday Market, with the entertainment starting at 10am with performances from a variety of local philharmonic orchestras and choirs.
Beverley’s mayor, Cllr Linda Johnson, will officially open the event at 11:15am, the time when the Queen started her reign 70 years ago, and the music will continue until 8pm.
From 10am to 11am, there will be a performance from the Humberside Police Concert Band.
Platinum Jubilee Pageant
Those visiting Wednesday Market will be entertained by some of East Yorkshire’s best artists, theatres, dancers and musicians.
One of the opening acts will be High Flyers, with their early flying machine that has elements of Madmax and Leonardo da Vinci all rolled into one.

Organisers are asking people to avoid travelling by car, with a free park and ride set to run throughout the day.
The four-day jubilee bank holiday runs from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June.
Trooping The Colour, which usually takes place on the second Saturday in June, will be held on Thursday 2nd June.
Over 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians will be part of the parade, which marks the Queen’s official birthday.
The event will close with the Queen and the Royal Family observing a flypast from the Buckingham Palace balcony.
Beacons will be lit across the UK on 2nd June and on Friday 3rd June, a service of thanksgiving for the Queen’s 70-year reign will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral.
The Queen will also attend the Derby at Epsom Downs on Saturday 4th June, along with other members of the royal family.
During the evening, a concert named ‘Platinum Party at the Palace’ will take place at Buckingham Palace.
Members of the public will be able to apply for tickets and attend the event.
On Sunday 5th June, people are encouraged to have a Big Jubilee Lunch and there will be a pageant featuring around 5,000 people taking part.
Additionally, there will be a parade along The Mall through an array of over 200 silk flags.
In England, pubs, clubs and bars can stay open for an extra two hours across the bank holiday weekend.
Other tributes and events will see a Platinum Jubilee medal awarded to people who work in public service and a statue of the Queen installed at York Minster.
Primary school children will receive a free book to mark the occasion.
Anyone who is planning their own Platinum Jubilee events is advised that they must seek permission and agreement from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
